Traffic Offence Appeal

After four months plus, here what the Traffic Police wrote:

We have reviewed your case and note that a traffic offence has been disclosed but in view of the circumstances, we have decided to take no further action against you in this instance. However, a warning will be recorded for our future reference.

Double checking the status at Singapore Police Force website, I have no outstanding summons. Yeah I saved $70! If not I will lose $70 because of the $30 Robinson vouchers.

How to write a proper appeal to the authorities?

Note: You can appeal through email to Traffic Police Feedback Unit at email address SPF_Feedback_TP@spf.gov.sg. URA and HDB appeal through their websites at www.ura.gov.sg and www.hdb.gov.sg respectively.

Ramly Burger Special Now $2.80!

Quite some time that I have not eaten a Ramly burger. I think the last time I eat it was during last year fasting month at Geylang Serai bazaar. Today I decided to buy one Ramly burger special at the pasar malam near my home. It used to cost $2.00 and $2.50 for the normal and special respectively, but now it cost 30 cents more for both types.

The Ramly chicken burger wrapper with the Malaysia’s Halal logo. Actually inside is a beef Ramly burger with egg and cheese. No beef Ramly burger’s wrappers?

Can you see the cheese and egg inside? I’m craving for more. I think I will buy again tomorrow.

Goodbye Bukit Timah Fire Station… Welcome SPECTRA…

A couple of weeks ago, I was wondering why the old Bukit Timah Fire Station and buildings along Upper Bukit Timah Road are having a new makeover.

I found out here that the most famous landmark of Bukit Timah is under construction to be transformed into a bustling centre for education, arts, sports and adventure.

Vacant since April 2005 as the firemen and families had already moved to the new Bukit Batok Fire Station located along Bukit Batok Road.

Built in 1956, the 4th fire station to be built in Singapore was leased out to Spectra Investment for 3 years. It will become Singapore first and only fun-filled Arts and Adventure enrichment hub for young artists, musicians, crafters, designers and great outdoor adventurers, under one roof.

Come September, I’m wondering how the traffic condition at the junction of Upper Bukit Timah Road and Old Jurong Road will be when vehicles starts to use the distinctive red doors.

Who And Where Is Mas Selamat Kastari?

Mas Selamat bin Kastari is a 47-year-old Indonesian-born Singaporean fugitive and used to work as a bus mechanic. Born on January 23, 1961 in Kendal, Central Java, he is married with five children.

Mas Selamat joined the Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) cell in 1992 and was sent to Afghanistan for training a year later. In 1998, he studied the Taleban system of government and has met Hambali (Riduan Isamuddin), the leader of JI.

Mas Selamat fled Singapore on December 2001 following the Internal Security Department (ISD) security operation against the JI where 13 suspected JI members were arrested. He plotted to crash an aeroplane from Bangkok into Changi Airport.

Mas Selamat was also jailed in Indonesia Riau province in 2003 for 18 months on immigration charges. He was however not handed over to Singapore upon his release, since Indonesia and Singapore do not yet have an extradition treaty. During this period of imprisonment, he broke his left leg in a botched attempt to escape when he jumped from a high floor.

Starhub MaxOnline Express Lagging?

Since the 1st day of year 2008, my Starhub MaxOnline Express is becoming slower and slower. Starhub said that they had enhanced MaxOnline Express download speeds to 8 Mbps; I do not feel any speed boost, but a noticed the surfing speed had decrease a lot.

This week, I’m getting the worst ever crawling speed till yesterday I can even surf the net. Today morning I steal/borrow my neighbor MaxOnline Premium broadband and found that my neighbour also had a bad connection. While connecting the Wi-Fi, I saw my next door neighbor is now using a Wi-Fi with their door unit numbers as their Wi-Fi name. I guess they are using Starhub MaxOnline too since my internet was so bad starting from yesterday.

I called the Starhub 1633 at 3 plus and told them to check what had happened to my connection. No updates from them until now. Thinking of downgrading to surf lite or terminating my internet soon.

Starhub download test tool here. Wondering where is the upload test tool?
